Homeless

Rushing to make Thanksgiving just right,
do we think about those who live in fright?

Does it matter to them if the table is set?
where is their dinner, what will they get?

While we feast on turkey, gravy and all,
where will they go not to starve this fall?

How do we face a child who needs love,
do we do more than spare a glove?

Are we too busy worrying about praise,
can we make happiness arrive in their days?

Knowing for now nothing is perfect in life,
what would you do for this child’s strife?
